Dr. Swift specializes in the rehabilitation of injuries and painful conditions of the neck, lower back, nerves and joints. Dr. Swift takes a comprehensive approach to orthopedic treatment. He utilizes medications, injections, advanced pain control techniques, as well as collaboration with other health professionals. He has advanced ultrasound training to help evaluate injuries and to use ultrasound technology during spine and joint injections. He has a special interest in regenerative medicine, and in treating patients with biological treatments such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).
Dr. Swift received his BA and MA in Kinesiology from the University of Texas in Austin and his doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN, and then moved to Oregon for his fellowship training in Pain Medicine at OHSU. During his fellowship, Dr. Swift received advanced training in pain control techniques such as fluoroscopy and ultrasound guided injections, spinal cord stimulation, and implanted medication pumps. Dr. Swift is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as in Pain Medicine.
When he is not treating his patients, Dr. Swift and his wife enjoy skiing, hiking and stand-up paddle boarding in central Oregon. He has played drums professionally and continues to play drums in local bands.
