Dr. Jeffrey Abildgaard completed his undergraduate education at Pacific Union College, majoring in biology. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University and completed his orthopedic surgery internship and residency in Phoenix, Arizona while at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center and the Mayo Clinic. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Reconstruction at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Greenville, South Carolina.
Dr. Abildgaard specializes in orthopedic sports medicine, treating athletes of all sports and levels. He has cared for athletes in high schools, colleges, and professional sports teams, including Arizona State University, North Greenville University, the Greenville Drive (Boston Redsox affiliate), and the Colorado Rockies. He has an emphasis on performing arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, elbow, and knee such as rotator cuff and labral repairs for the shoulder and knee ligament and meniscal surgery. Dr. Abildgaard also specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the hip for conditions such as Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and labral tears.
He enjoys hiking, golf, hockey and snow sports, but mostly enjoys spending time with his wife and three young daughters.
