World Class Orthopedic Clinic
Desert Orthopedics offers highly trained orthopedists who provide expert orthopedic care, in a caring and compassionate environment. We have 22 medical providers who will listen to your concerns, evaluate your condition, offer a treatment plan and help you achieve optimal health and strength for your bones, joints, ligaments, and muscles.
If you experience an acute injury, have ongoing chronic pain or reduced range of motion in your joints, you can be diagnosed and treated all under one roof with our comprehensive diagnostic services and onsite, outpatient surgery facility. For your convenience, we utilize Bend Surgery Center for outpatient surgical procedures, which is in the same building as our Bend clinic location.
State-Of-The-Art Diagnostic Equipment
Digital X-Ray – At Desert Orthopedics, our patients receive digital radiography using cutting edge technology for highly detailed imagery that reduces patient wait time and provides immediate results.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) provides detail that digital radiography does not pick up, such as ligament tears and tissue injury. MRI uses safe and painless magnetic and radio waves to produce high-resolution images for diagnosing bone, tissue, joint and musculoskeletal conditions.
Ultrasound Technology assists in the diagnosis and management of injuries and conditions affecting the bones, muscles, joints and soft tissue. Ultrasound can show joint and muscle movement in real time and help guide placement of medical injections, improving accuracy and decreasing pain.
Electromyography (EMG) is used to assess the function of muscles and the nerves that control them. An EMG study measures electrical signals from the muscles utilizing a tiny needle electrode. This is often accompanied by a Nerve Conduction Study which involves skin electrodes. Together, these studies accurately measure the function, damage and healing of the peripheral nervous system.
Our surgeons perform outpatient procedures onsite at Desert Orthopedics, or at the Bend Surgery Center located in the same building as our main office in east Bend. We offer our patients the convenience of having their surgical procedures performed in the same location with our diagnostic equipment and exam rooms.
Inpatient surgery, such as a total joint replacement or bone reconstruction, is performed at St. Charles Hospital by our expert surgeons who are highly trained and experienced in providing comprehensive patient care.
Our Orthopedic doctors generally prefer a non-surgical approach, requiring surgery only as a last resort. Our expert team of physicians will perform a thorough and comprehensive evaluation, utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, to fully understand the cause of your symptoms and pain.
We’ll collaborate with you regarding options, allowing you to ultimately determine your final treatment plan. There may be non-surgical solutions, including physical therapy, injections, orthotics, and lifestyle changes to relieve pain and stiffness of joints.
Our goal is to help you heal, non-surgically or surgically, and follow up with you throughout the process until you are back to living the life you want.
